Jinkerson – 1986 – Joan Senior x Elizabeth Yancey – 27” height – 5” flower – Dip – mid-late – semi-evergreen – rebloom – near white self with yellow green throat
Nanuq is a lovely white with a nice green to chartreuse throat. The foliage is semi-evergreen but it holds up well with late winter freezes and it is very hardy here. My original division came from Gilbert H. Wild, so I suspect it is going to survive in colder zones than my zone 6 garden. I have several reports of it doing well in the south. It is a fast increaser.
Nanuq is fertile both ways and has shown excellent rust resistance, as well as breed value for rust resistance, in my garden when it is crossed with cultivars equally or more resistant.
